I have many years of experience as an elementary school counselor with the Camdenton school district, and I have to say that last year at Hurricane Deck (my first year in the building) is my favorite year ever!  I am a hometown girl and proud to be a Laker!  I got my bachelor’s degree in education at UCM in Warrensburg and my master’s degree in guidance and counseling at MSU in Springfield.  My husband, Tom, is the high school speech and debate coach.  We brag that we have three kids—Stephen is “unofficially adopted” and has two boys, Johnna is our daughter with a little girl and boy of her own, and Luke is our youngest and “officially adopted” son.  Our family grew from our hearts in unexpected ways, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.  At the end of July we moved Luke to Nashville to study audio engineering, so we are empty nesters.  I like to think of it as having more time and energy for YOUR kids!

 My grandfather was on the school board when Hurricane Deck Elementary first came to be in 1952, and he would have been so proud to see me work here.  Thank you for allowing me to work with your children!
