• The Social Studies Department of the Camdenton R-III School District believesSocial Studies is a diverse subject area that encompasses many fields of investigation and interest. History, geography, economics, government, social development, tolerance, and multicultural education, decision making and civic responsibility are all a part of Social Studies education. The real life connections are easily recognized, thus the importance of Social Studies in the curriculum is paramount.
     
    We recognize the importance of fostering responsible citizens who wil be both active in the school and in their community throughout their lives.
     
    We have a responsibility to educate students so that they can succeed in a culturally diverse workplace. By using literature distinct to different cultures, students not only learn about that culture, but develop tolerance for other beliefs, values and attitudes.
