    ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO NEWLY ELECTED BOARD MEMBER

    The oath of office was administered to newly elected Board member Courtney Hulett as he was unable to be in attendance at the April 10, 2017, reorganizational meeting.

    Student and staff recognitions were postponed until the May regular Board meeting.

    EXECUTIVE SESSION

    In compliance with State Statute 610.021 (closed meetings and closed records), the Board went into Executive Session for the following purposes:

    1)     Hiring, firing, disciplining, or promoting particular employees (610.021)(3).

    2)       Software codes for electronic data processing and documentation (610.021)(10).

    3)     Individually identifiable personnel records, performance ratings, or records pertaining to employees (610.021)(13).

    APPROVE BILLS

    Bills were approved as presented.

    CONSENT ITEMS

    A.      Accept Computer Bid

    A computer bid summary was reviewed.  The bid from Hypertec for 20 computers for the High School Physics Lab was recommended for acceptance.

    B.      Approve Budget Amendments

    Recommended amendments to align the District’s budget with DESE were presented.  These are cost neutral.  The money is there, just being realigned.

    C.      Approve New Courses

    Information was presented for a new 9th grade class, Analytical Reading and Writing, and a new course request for the SREB math readiness course.

    D.      Approve Contingent Support for Osage Beach Commons Tax Increment Financing Plan

    The district’s legal counsel has reviewed the TIF plan and has determined the plan does comply with the district’s policy.  We are waiting on one additional document to determine if the plan totally complies with the Board’s policy.  Approval by the Board would be contingent on compliance with policy.

    UNFINISHED BUSINESS

    DISTRICT INSURANCE ANALYSIS

    Representatives were present to provide information related to the District’s health insurance program.  The Board approved the National Preferred Formulary Program, to implement the Diabetes Management Program and to initiate medication edits.  The Board accepted the stop loss renewal from Unimerica

    NEW BUSINESS

    CONSIDER GO CAPS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

    Information related to the GO CAPS Program was reviewed.  The Camdenton, Lebanon, and Conway School Districts are seeking affiliate membership with the Springfield GO CAPS Program.  The approximate cost for the program would be $90,000 which would provide 44 seats for our students and cover two strands: medicine/healthcare and engineering/manufacturing.  The Board approved the MOU regarding GO CAPS as presented.

     This is an opportunity for the Board to report on upcoming meetings, meetings attended, registrations, and deadlines.

    ·         Teacher of the Year/Educator of the Year Banquet – May 2, 2017, 6:30, Inn at Grand Glaize

    ·         May 8th Board Meeting - scheduled to be held at Hurricane Deck Elementary.

    ·   No reports in May.  June Board Meeting Reports tentatively include:  Guidance & Counseling Report, Activities Review, School Climate/Discipline Report, Energy Education Report

    ·         Volunteer Appreciation Dinner – May 15, 2017, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Camdenton High School

    ·         Graduation – May 18, 2017, 8:00 p.m.

    ·      End-of-Year Brunch & Assembly, Tuesday, May 23rd.  Brunch at 10:30 in the High School Commons, assembly begins at noon in the RC Worthan Auditorium.

    ·         MSBA Leadership Summit, June 2-4, 2017, Tan-Tar-A

    ·         Education Foundation - Educator Scholarship applications due June 9, 2017.
