Life is a Journey. Travel Drug Free!
Red Ribbon Week’s goal is to educate
and encourage Hawthorn students to make safe and healthy choices.
This year’s
theme was “Life is a Journey. Travel Drug Free!”
Students were involved in a contest to come up with slogans for the theme. Winners were: Madison Stamm, Collin Austin, Prascilla Pitts, Sidney Swearengin, Brooklyn Gorman, Kyler Gabriel, Shelby Loth, Zoe Ford, Kaitlynn Henry and Richard Chandler.
Our Spirit Week included different themes each
day.
Hawthorn Teachers decked out for their favorite decade.
We kicked off the week dressing like our favorite decade, then banded
together in our journey to be drug free by wearing red for our all school assembly.
The Camdenton Middle School Cheerleaders did an outstanding job leading
students in chats to be drug free. Camdenton’s
Pride of the Lake Middle School band played the flight song during the assembly.
Cheer Captains and a band member talked to the kids about why it is important
to stay drug free.
Classrooms participated in a
banner contest where students brainstormed ideas on how they could help
other
classmates stay drug free. Winners were announced at the assembly.
