My original degree was in Textiles and Clothing Design from Iowa State University. I went back
to school in my early 40’s to pursue my Masters in Elementary Education. Then while teaching
at Quincy Junior High, I went back and worked on my Special Education Certification. I love
working with middle school age children!
In my spare time I love to read, sew, run, boat and swim. I also love to water ski.
My family consists of my husband, Jim, my sons, Matthew and Jeffrey, our dog, Misty, and our
cat, Quincy. We all enjoy boating and being around the water.
Something interesting about me is that two years ago I started training and ran my first
halfmarathon. Since then I ran one more, then hurt my knee and had to stop. I plan on starting
training again this year and running another half-marathon this spring in Nashville.
