• What is PTO?

PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. It is a parent group with a primary focus of creating a community that supports our school, the teachers, the staff, and the children. PTO helps parents and teachers cooperate to make schools great!

In recent years OBE PTO has provided the school with leadership training, smart boards & projectors, numerous books for the library & classrooms, reading reward incentives, t-shirts, classroom/teacher supplies, playground equipment, a rock climbing wall, school carnival, drug free awareness programs, and has funded various student field trips & assemblies. This is all made possible through fundraisers and parent involvement.

Is it important or beneficial to be an involved parent? YES!!
Here are a few reasons why:

When children see that it matters to you, it matters even more to them.

    Also,
research has shown that children of involved parents do better in school, and score higher on standardized tests.

    Have
No time for PTO meetings? No problem; you can still be involved! Just watch for future communications regarding PTO events and fundraisers and there will be information on how everyone can help; including being able to contribute from home or work. Just an hour or two per semester is a great help to PTO.

No parent is ever asked to take on more than they can handle.
OBE PTO is open to moms, dads, grandparents, or guardians! Everyone’s a member!!

The OBE PTO meets quarterly in the school library. At that time we will also be forming committees for the various events and fundraisers that occur throughout the school year. Bring your calendars!
