PTO Kickoff Meeting

Minutes- PTO Kick-off Meeting: September 2, 2014 5:30pm Attendance: Deirdre Smith, Sherry Marose, April White, DeeDee Wiseman, Angie Schuster, Ron White, Patty Case, Rich Hodits, Kathy Hodits, Cassandra LaBrue, Roxy Reed, Kathy Oelschlager, Andrea Weiss, Jeanne Butkovich, Darrell Law, Jamee Sweatt, Jonelle Yannotta, Lisa McKoon, Lana Hughes, Alicia Daniels, Tami Sutterer, Annie Schulte, Nathan Forck, Anna Leezer, Stephanie Gerber, Tammy Haas, Susan Casey, Karen Miller, Brian Schuster, Susan Ebling, Diedre Vansyoc Family, Amanda Caine, Kanesha Carr, Erin Kaminski, Jan Michaelree, Amy Supulver • Call to Order • Board Introductions- Deidre introduced Board Members • What is PTO?: Deidre went over purpose and role of PTO, what we would be doing throughout the year, and involvement required to accomplish our goals. • Discussed committee sign ups: Explained different commitees and explained how many volunteers we would need for each event and emphasized that we NEEDED volunteers for everything we are doing for our children and the school. Treasurer’s Report: April went over the treasurer’s report. Deposits: Box Tops: $1027.10. Went over that there were a couple other expenses that were needing to be paid. Lakerwear sales, $75 for teachers supplies, and paint from the PTO. Leader in me training will cost $4300. We still have to pay Jack’s Sporting Goods. Deposits were made for EFG cards so far in the amount of $3,355, bringing total balance to $9,000. • Updates and reminders: PTO Meeting Oct 14th. Book Fair- Volunteers needed. Chili Supper/ Basket Raffles Need donations Nov. 10-14th. Volunteers needed for chili supper. • Amy Supulver: Box top updates. Can submit many times a year but we only receive checks 2xs a year. Explained monthly contest for boxtops for classrooms. • Reminder: EFG card sales due next Thursday Sept 9th. • Leader in Me Shirts: Deidre explained how much shirts would cost. PTO voted on Leader in Me shirts everybody voted in favor that PTO uses funds to purchase shirts for students. • Mrs. Slack went over Leader in Me and spoke about Empowerment training. Gave dates of Leader In Me night and went over what to expect for those nights. Questions: None. She also went over 90/90 APR goal. Our school did not meet this goal last year. • Update on new building: On schedule. Received check from Rotary Club in new school. She explained that each classroom will partner with a leader in the community. • Coat Drive: Stephanie Gerber volunteered to chair the coat drive. There will be 16 donation stations and we will be partnering with another coat drive. Stephanie asked if PTO would make a donation for laundry detergent. It was decided to continue conversation at the next board meeting to keep current meeting within time agenda. • Website: Sherry spoke about updating the website. Camdentonschools.org, click OBE, PTO tab, All event dates will be on the calendar. Updates for events will also be posted on the facebook page. • LEADER Handprints: Told parents about hand prints and encouraged them to take a look. • Opened the floor: Issues were brought up about EFG cards and questions were asked and answered.
