Dr. Shea Voelker

Shea was born and raised in St. Louis and moved to Camdenton in 2014. She takes pride in being a Laker and is excited to join the school not only as the mother of two students, but also as a School Counselor.

Shea is a licensed clinical psychologist with a temporary school counselor certificate who has worked with children and adolescents since 2002. She has had the desire to work towards a career in school counseling for many years, as she has witnessed the strong impact that schools can have on children. She earned her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology in 2005 from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor is Sociology in 2001 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship and Post-Doctoral Residency at Royal Oaks Hospital in Windsor, Missouri where she specialized in pre-adolescence, adolescence, and psychological testing.

Shea’s clinical history includes private practice, community mental health, acute inpatient psychiatric hospital, child development clinic performing evaluations for Autism and other developmental delays, and consultation with public and private school districts. She has also served as a member of the National Health Service Corps, which is dedicated to provide psychological and medical treatment for underserved populations. She remains passionate about ensuring that barriers do not halt anyone’s basic needs.

In Shea’s free time, she enjoys time with her husband, Seth and two daughters, Gabrielle and Emerson. She loves boating, hiking, yoga, wellness, crafts, reading, and cooking.
